How Does Confetti’s Wedding Gown Preservation Service Work?

wedding ideas for spring

Here at Confetti, we’ve been cleaning hundreds of dresses each year for over 20 years, giving us a wealth of knowledge and experience when it comes to wedding gown preservation. We are proud of the friendly, efficient personal service that we offer and our tried and tested process of wedding gown preservation. Here’s how the process works:

Step 1 – Visit us online

Confetti’s service is ideal for the busy bride. Either before or after your big day, simply visit our website and fill out an order form, letting us know every detail about your dress such as the size and service you require. You can then sit back and relax as we then arrange for a courier to collect the dress from you.

Step 2 – Cleaning

We know how to treat every type of stain according to each bridal gown’s material. We make sure your dress is carefully and expertly cleaned, properly removing all stains – both seen and unseen. We pay meticulous attention to detail when it comes to things like sugar stains, which aren’t noticeable until the dress ages and the sugar turns brown. All our dresses are thoroughly inspected when they come to us, then either Dry Cleaned or Wet Cleaned. We’ll spot treat all stains and marks before cleaning on a delicate cycle. If some marks remain, we will pre-spot and re-clean to ensure the best results have be achieved on the dress. This detailed cleaning is absolutely essential when it comes to wedding gown preservation, if you want to ensure your dress lasts through the years.

Step 3 – Preservation

In addition to knowing the best methods for cleaning all types of dress, we also understand that the packaging is just as important as the cleaning when it comes to wedding gown preservation. We ensure we use only the best packaging and preservation method to keep your gown looking ageless for years to come. After cleaning, and following any repairs required by our expert seamstress, all the dresses we’ve treated are pressed and steamed. They are then carefully wrapped in layers of acid free tissue and packaged in a hand-made, beautifully British gown box. This acid-free box allows the dress to breathe and adjust to changing temperatures.

We’ll then return the dress to you, good as new, for you to cherish for years to come.
